Sabay sa ihip ng hangin

Music and lyrics by: Vince de Jesus
Arrangement: Vince de Jesus
Soloist: Paolo Paculan

Ihip ng hangin
Pakinggan Mo't Iyong maririnig
Awit ng pag-ibig
Alay ko sa 'Yo lamang

Kahit na ilang ulit Mo nang narinig
Sana'y pansinin
Ang tinig kong umaawit ng kundiman
Ang puso kong sabik sa 'Yong kandungan
Iyo sanang pakadinggin aking panalangin

Na kahit ako ay maligaw
Sa 'Yo ay mabalik
Sabay sa ihip ng hangin
Tangi kong ligaya'y makapiling Ka

Ang tangi kong ligaya ay Ikaw
Kapiling Ka

Kahit na ilang ulit Mo nang narinig
Sana'y pansinin
Ang tining kong sabik sa 'Yong kandungan
Iyo sanang pakadinggin aking panalangin

Na kahit ako ay maligaw
Sa 'Yo ay mabalik
Sabay sa ihip ng hangin
Kailan kaya ang susunod na hanging darating?

Heart's sigh

I am in a state of restlessness (– again) because of too much pressure from work, studies and family.

Wala lang. But I am not tired and I am not complaining. Mas marami pang dapat mag complain kesa sa’kin… I am still blessed.

Jeric was my 21-years-old cousin who died of cancer in 2004. He was the second son in a family of seven children. The CA was detected May, he died August. We were devastated because we only noticed the lump on his neck March 2004.

More than a year later, his 21-year-old sister found a lump on the same spot of her neck. It was diagnosed as undifferentiated carcinoma also known as cancer of the nasal cavity.

According to the doctor, she might as well cut her hair short and ask someone to make a wig out of it because the chemotherapy would just damage the hair follicles, which would eventually lead to hair fall. She also has to undergo radiotherapy every day for 20-30 days.

This news broke our hearts. For the second time, cancer poses a challenge to the whole family. I hope we get out of this one undefeated.

I miss him terribly. In truth, kung gugustuhin ko lang, I could contact him. But no, I won’t. Because finally the lesson on loving and letting go of someone you really love is finally sinking into my whole being. This time, I want to make a conscious effort to stop hating him. Very hard task… pero I really want to pick up the pieces and get on with my life na, happy and free from all the burdens that has been weighing me down ever since.

I attended the SFC choir practice last Thursday night and I missed Lisieux very, very much. They were practicing the piece "JESUS" which we sang during the 2000 concert (my last year in LB). I noticed that I am grabbing every opportunity to be with my new community. I look forward to attending every scheduled meeting and practice they have. I suddenly wonder why in the world was I so lazy to attend meetings and practices back then. When I voiced this out loud last night, Arlene answered: kasi busy ka! Ahhhh, the opportunity cost of having a boyfriend :P

I am Death

Death, the second of The Endless, you are responsible for ending all lives and taking them to your realm, from which no one ever returns. You are bright, positive, happy, optimistic%2
Death, the second of The Endless, you are
responsible for ending all lives and taking
them to your realm, from which no one ever
returns. You are bright, positive, happy,
optimistic and enjoy everything about life, but
that does not mean your silly or stupid. You
can lay the smack down when you have to!
Everyone loves you, and they don't know why.

Which Endless are you?

Happy New Year!

Ambilis ng panahon, 2006 na agad. I have to constantly remind myself to writing six at the end of the two zeros instead of five.

We had a peaceful new year’s eve. No finger was lost and not as single drop of blood was shed ;)

Although 2005 hadn’t been a problem-free year. Still, I feel very blessed and loved. :) As always, at every start of the year, I am hoping for a better one this year.

I only have two resolutions and I can only mention one here. Ok, eto na po: Pipilitin ko pong HINDI NA MA-LATE. :) There, enough said.

My mom and I went out the other night to buy a pair of shoes. Inside the food court, I saw two ladies and a man laughing together sharing a solo sized Greenwich pizza and a Sunday. They were clearly having fun.

It suddenly occurred to me that I like the “walang pera” gimmick. Let me clear this. I like going out with lots of money to spend, however, being with friends and loved ones does not necessarily mean that there should be lots of cash to splurge. I should know this kasi nung college (and up until now) my friends and I still do this once in a while just to be with each other.

Just a month ago, I had “dinner” with Lenen at Dunkin Donuts. Each of us had (for the so-called dinner) a cup of coffee and a ham and cheese Bunwhich kasi we were low on budget then. We stayed there for about 3 hours siguro just chatting, updating each other about work, family, love life etc. and even if we don’t have much to expend, we still had fun.

Naiinis ako sa mga taong nagsasabi ang mga empleyado ng gobyerno ay WALANG ginagawa. Super naiinis ako sa mga taong ganun.

Somebody who’s not even connected to any government institution once jokingly said to me, siguro wala kang ginagawa sa office. I should remember daw that I am being paid by the taxpayer’s money. You know what my reaction was – I flared up. Why? Here are the reasons:

There are only 13 employees in our agency. Every year since the agency was established, an annual scientific meeting is held with the general aim of informing the public about the latest studies and discoveries in the field of science and technology. Yearly almost a thousand scientists, researchers, students, etc. attend this scientific meeting to get updated.

The preparation for this event starts almost a year before the scheduled date. Meaning if the meeting is in July, the preparation starts in late October. At least two weeks before the event, some of us would stay in the office for days to finish everything. This is with out over time pay. Not once did we receive a payment for an OT work. May iba na nga kaming meaning sa OT eh – Over Tawad.

On the top of all these are our “real” functions that we have to carry out no matter what happen.

Nope, I am not complaining. I like being busy. Call me idealistic but I like seeing the results and its effect on the people and our country.

I may even be exaggerating a bit (ok, just a small bit) but PLEASE don’t generalize when you give comments on how government employees work because some of us really take our tasks seriously. Besides, we are also taxpayers; we also have the same rights as those who work in private companies.

Pertaining to this. I now pray for strength so that I can break his neck! Hindi pa tapos ang first week ng bagong taon! nakailang rows na kami. Hay…
